First Lady
First Lady Patricia A. Ways is the loving wife of Bishop Marcus R. Ways; they are the proud parents of three wonderful children and one adorable grandson. She has been actively involved in Ministry for more than three decades and thus, is not a novice to the work of the Ministry.
In addition to her responsibilities as the Pastor’s wife, she serves as President of the Women’s Department, Chairperson of Annual Women’s Day, founder of the CGC 1st Lady’s Book Club, advisor to the Youth Department, adjunct member of several auxiliaries and a member of the CGC Board of Directors. She is the First Lady of the Michigan Southwest First Jurisdiction of the Church of God In Christ, leading and mentoring wives of Pastors, Elders and Ministers of over 50 churches. She he is a licensed Evangelist, a Jurisdictional Instructor for the Elders’ Ordination Board and the Missionary Auxiliary Alliance Institute (MAAI). Along with her husband, she can be found traveling around the United States conducting seminars, retreats, conferences and retreats on marriage/family, economic, medical and legal issues. At the community level, she is involved in children’s and professional
activities including, but not limited to: Junior Achievement, the Michigan and American Nurses Associations, the National, American and Michigan Bar Associations.
Moreover, while nurturing her family, being a Pastor’s wife, serving in the ministries of CGC and the Michigan Southwest First Jurisdiction, and managing a full-time demanding job, she did not neglect to pursue her academic interests. She has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and a Juris Doctorate in Law. She is a Registered Nurse and a Licensed Attorney. She served as an adjunct Faculty Professor at Siena Heights University, teaching Medical and Legal courses in both the Graduate and Undergraduate Programs. Also, she was employed by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan in Managed Health Care and the Office of the General Counsel–Regulatory/Governmental Law. Currently, she works as an Attorney for the County of Wayne, State of Michigan. In March 2010, First Lady Missionary Patricia Ways was honored by the Michigan Chronicle at the 2010 Inaugural Michigan Chronicle Salute to First Ladies.
Evangelist Ways is a woman of faith, a student of the Word, and an encourager to the household of faith. She understands and embraces the sacrifice of commitment, the courage of perseverance despite failure and the value of a meek and humble spirit before the Lord. She is a praying woman and an anointed woman. She is thankful to the Lord for the Godly influence of her late grandmother, the loving support of her wonderful mother and the encouragement of her dynamic husband.
Evangelist Ways is committed to the work of nurturing her family, God’s people and the less fortunate in embracing the love of our Lord Jesus Christ. She rejoices in the God of her salvation because He hath regarded the humble estate of His servant and yet, has caused her to be Blessed!
